Sharon Whippy

I taught English for nearly a decade before I attained my Masters in Professional Studies from the University of Auckland, specialising in Language Teaching and Learning in 2013. I moved to Melbourne and began to teach in the Monash University Language Centre on their university bridging program. It was here I began to develop my passion for eLearning. I began my role as Learning Content Designer with Monash College Central eLearning Team in 2015.

I work in collaboration with the rest of the eLearning Team, to design and develop high-quality digital media resources and provides support and training in response to the evolving teaching and learning needs of Monash College staff and students. In addition to design and development, I collaborate with, and train staff to, create and utilize state of the art resources for use in blended learning and flipped classrooms environments. We use sound instructional principles and methodologies incorporating practice learning and teaching pedagogies.

The Monash College Central eLearning Team won the Association of Learning Technology 2017 Team Learning Technologists of the Year Award and the Blackboard Catalyst Award for Professional Development 2017.

I received an Outstanding Contribution Award for my work on Engaging Students with the Active Learning Platform in 2017. Currently I am working towards gaining my CMALT accreditation.
