Started teaching in 1997 after graduating from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Education (Secondary). I have had broad experience in many locations (both metro and rural) with Education Queensland since 1997 and continue to be employed by the organsiation. My specialty is Mathematics, but I am also trained with an extended major in English lierature teaching and Science. I was a substative Head of Department (Mathematics Faculty) from 2006 to 2014 across three schools. I have also worked as a Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority Panellist for Mathematics C and Mathematics A since 2006. In 2009-2010 I worked for Education Queensland International in Doha, Qatar as a Mathematics Advisor in the School Support Organisation, setting up a new and modernised independent schooling system. I was advisor to three heads of faculty (Mathematics, Physical Education, Information Technology) and the faculty staff. I provided over 100 hours of staff professional development in the areas of curriculum, pedagogy and learning technologies. I am an Education Queensland Teacher Mentor. I am currently enrolled in a Master of Learning Management, and am considering commencing a Master of Digital Learning Futures in the near future through Charles Darwin University. I thoroughly enjoy flipping my Mathematics classes and am always looking for ways to refine my craft and become even more effective.
