I obtained a BSc at Glasgow University in Physics with Geology. I then went on to complete a PhD in the field of Geophysics. After this, I worked as a Post-doc Researcher in Switzerland and Spain, in the field of Paleomagnetism. I published several papers on the magnetic properties of Chinese loess deposits. In 1997, I decided to take a break from research and trained as a EFL teacher, and taught for a couple of years in Barcelona. On return to the UK, I trained as a Secondary Science teacher, obtaining a PGCE from Sheffield Hallam University. For the last 17 years I have worked as a Physics teacher in UK state school and at an international school in Thailand. Presently, I work part-time teaching A-level Physics. This has freed up time for me to develop flipped learning resources on my website (www.flippedaroundphysics.com) and TES. I am very interested in innovative teaching methods and new education technology.
