My name is Jeff Newman, though most people just call me “Newman” due to having watched Seinfeld. I am married and we have no children. We do have one cat while living with and taking care of my in-laws. My wife and I are originally from Chicago and have lived in Arizona for the last 22 years.
I have a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in marketing/information technology from Roosevelt University in Chicago and a Post-Bachelorette in Secondary Education English from Arizona State University – West Campus. I enjoy taking classes and interacting with others to further myself in my career and to keep challenged.
I am the Tolleson Union High School District’s Instructional Technology Integration Specialist and overseeing the Blended/Personalized Learning movement in the schools. I taught high school English and Journalism for 12 years at Copper Canyon High School in Glendale, AZ, since the school was opened. Before going into teaching, I was in the information technology industry for 20 years, ending that career as the chief technology officer for a large construction company located in Scottsdale, AZ.
In my spare time, I like to read and watch poorly written and made horror and science fiction stories, and participate in the Social Media Movement. My wife and I love traveling, especially to the Scandinavian countries.
