I started my career in Washington DC Public Schools in 1988. Since then I’ve taught at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron Ohio. And for the last 13 years I’ve lived in Australia teaching at Kincoppal Rose Bay School, Frensham Girls School and St Monica’s. I earned my BA in Education at The University of Akron in 1988. I came very close to finishing a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics there as well, but marriage thwarted my plans. I studied an Administration Masters at Ursuline College in Ohio as well. I’ve been a Math teacher, a golf coach, a ski coach, a Student Council Advisor, an Assistant Principal, a Year Coordinator and The Director of Boarding at the largest girls’ Boarding School in Australia. I am proud now to say that I am “just teaching Math” in the tropics of Far north Queensland. I am enjoying my career more than ever. I have presented at many conferences over the years and have always been passionate about improving my instruction/feedback/assessment. The professional development courses are too many to number here — lots. Most memorable though: I attend FlipCon in the Gold Coast last year and that really kick-started me down the flipping path. I have an extremely supportive administration and they are allowing me to present at FlipCon NZ in a few weeks. Can’t wait.
