Deborah Rasmussen

An advocate for life-long learning with a passion for enhancing learning, systems, and processes – I enjoy helping others succeed at the point of need. As a Registered Nurse, I began my teaching career in 2008 where I initiated eLearning and blended learning for clinical staff development at a healthcare organization in Canandaigua, NY. With a growing interest in how people learn, I completed a Master of Science degree in Education from Purdue University within the Learning Design and Technology Program. In 2013 I transitioned to higher education and currently work in Geneva, NY as an Educational Technologist supporting learning innovations in and beyond the classroom. My areas of interest include blended and flipped learning methodologies to enhance engagement and foster active learning during the face-to-face class time. I have previously taught a workplace learning/instructional design course at the graduate level in Ithaca, NY and continue to offer professional development opportunities for faculty and staff exploring software and innovative learning approaches.
