have 9 years’ experience in working with young people aged 16 – 25 years old, dealing with challenging behavior and enabling young people to develop skills necessary for moving on to further education, training or employment. I have 3 years’ experience teaching in a Further Education College with excellent results, retention and positive destinations. I possess a proven ability to challenge young people to think about their values and attitude, manage behavior and work towards gaining employment.

I am in charge of planning and delivering a 12-week personal development programme with the aim of challenging young people 17 – 25 years old. I deliver national units, organise and manage delivery of community project, residential week, outdoor activities, employability skills, team challenge and other third sector training programmes. I am responsible for training and mentoring Cert IV, DIP, BA, BED and HNC/D students and volunteers. I have excellent communication and organisational skills and have shown this with the smooth delivery of the programme. Utilising excellent communication skills, I developed and maintained successful working relationships with both internal and external staff.

I am an approachable individual who works well with others. I am open-minded and value diversity. I inspire young people and lead by example. I enable positive change and am non-judgmental, focusing on the potential of the young person. I am passionate and committed to supporting young people. I am first aid, CALMS and Mental Health First Aid trained. I enjoy taking opportunities for personal and professional development and am passionate about learning. I have received an inspiring young people award from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
