After receiving his bachelor degree in Computers and Educational Technologies, and masters degree in Educational Sciences from Boğaziçi University, went to Canada for his Ph.D. He completed his dissertation concerning with the neoliberal cultural transformation in education from the department of Integrated Studies in Education at McGill University. Beginning his career as a middle school teacher, he taught at various universities as a part-time lecturer and worked as a researcher at Boğaziçi University Education Policy Research and Application Center. Pursuing a second Ph.D. degree at the Boğaziçi University, he is interested in education and cultural transformation, politics of education and academic writing.
