Victoria Kinross

I studied a Bachelor of Education (Primary) at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2009. I have been teaching for 9 years. After my fifth year teaching, I went back to university (Melbourne Graduate School of Education) to complete further study in the area of Student Wellbeing, completing a Master of Education (SW).

2014 – present : Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak
I spent my first four years at Loreto Toorak as a Year 6 homeroom teacher, where I taught one class English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Religion and Positive Education. This year, the school have implemented some changes to how learning occurs in Years 5 and 6. I now have a Year 5 homeroom, where I teach all of the above subjects, except for English. I also teach a Year 6 Mathematics class. This model allows me to work to my strengths and passions, and allows my students to learn English from a teacher who feels the same way about English. So far, this has been very successful.

2011-2013 : Auburn Primary School
I taught for three years at Auburn Primary School in Hawthorn East, spending two years in a composite Year 5/6 classroom and one year in a 3/4 classroom. This school had a major focus on differentiation in the classroom, using students’ ZPDs to devise rich learning opportunities through project based learning.

2010 : Hastings Westpark Primary School (now called Wallaroo Primary School)
My first year teaching was spent in a Year 4/5 composite class. We had a pod of four desktop computers to share between two classes.
