My research is dedicated to understanding the causes of metabolic syndrome and its overall consequences on general health, bone health, reproductive and feto-maternal health. These are increasingly common non-communicable diseases that develop in some but not all obese individuals. Knowledge of disease-predisposing biomarkers and gene functions along with their aberrations will help our understanding of overall body physiology and disease processes occurring in metabolically healthy versus metabolically unhealthy individuals. Ultimately, the goal is to understand these specific genetic and non-genetic factors unique to Pakistani population for improvement of health outcomes. In addition, I am also proficient in designing and offering flipped classroom sessions and blended learning medical education courses.
