Before entering into academia, I worked for 19 years as a corporate and commercial banking manager in the third largest bank of Turkey. I received my masters degree on international trade and completed my PhD program on strategic management. After finishing my PhD, I was invited by the University of Pennslyvania Wharton School Entrepreneurial Research Center to join the team of international visiting scholars mentored by Ian MacMillan. Returning back to Turkey in 2015, I started my academic career as faculty member and lecturer of Strategic Management, Organization Theory and International Business courses in MEF University, İstanbul, Turkey, as well as working as director of the Institute of Social Sciences. In 2015, I was appointed as the country vice-president of European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. My book “Strategic Financial Management in Small and Medium Sized Companies” was published by Emerald Publishing Group in 2015. In August, 2018, I made an academic presentation titled as “Flipping Business Courses” in WEI Education Conference, Harvard Faculty Club.
